Saddened to hear the news today of the passing of Ken Sumrall, the founder of the college I attended in Pensacola, Fla and long time pastor of Liberty Church. The four short years I spent under his leadership & influence not only impacted and changed the course of my life but hundreds and thousands of others who were likewise blessed.
His legacy will continue to live on through each of us so blessed to know him and affectionately call him Papa Ken! We wait with great hope for the future, when we shall be united with him once again in the presence of Christ.
When I close my eyes, I can hear him preaching from 2 Timothy 4:6-8 now,
6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
