The Church Mouse, Leadership Lessons From The Magic Kingdom

It’s been a long time since I’ve found myself as excited as I am about reading a book I received yesterday. I love to read and read a lot, but this book really has me psyched. My family loves all things Disney. We spend some vacation time at one of the Disney resorts every year. This annual trek to Disney has been going on for the better part of two decades. Every time I’m there, I am always impressed with Disney’s quality, excellence, customer service and corporate culture. Many times it has inspired creativity inside of me, that I have brought back to the church I pastor.

Now, along comes a book that is written with all of these things in mind, “The Church Mouse, Leadership Lessons From The Magic Kingdom“, by Christopher W. Perry. I’m having a hard time holding off getting started in this book, but I’m going to make myself wait until we (as a family) are once again enjoying a Disney resort on our family vacation, to start reading. Meanwhile, I just wanted to get the word out to my fellow church leaders about this book that looks like it’ll be a great one.

After you give it a read, let me know what you think 🙂

  1. Greg, I’ll be interested in hearing what you think of the book. 🙂 Given what you said about your love of Disney, you might be interested in attending the Creative Ministry Conference in Orlando in January put on by Leadership Nexus (www.leadershipnexus.org) We have several Disney leaders who are also Christians speak at the event and we even spend one day in the parks, meeting up for discussion groups on how to apply what we see in the church settings. Blessings to you!
    Peace,
    Chris

  2. Thanks for the info on the Creative Ministry Conference in Orlando, Chris. I’ll look in to it. Leaving out for Disney’s Hilton Head Resort next week 🙂 I’ll let you know how I like the book. Thanks for writing it!
    Blessings!
    Greg
